A police inspector was on Wednesday arraigned on two charges of sexual activity with a minor.
The man Mark Anthon, 47, a father of five who gave his address as Lot 50 Stanleytown, New Amsterdam appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore in the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court on two charges.
He is accused of between January 1, 2003 and April 30, 2010 at Liverpool, he indecently assaulted the child.. Whilst the child would be asleep he would insert his finger in her vagina. The child was warned not to tell anyone. However the man’s action was observed by another daughter. It was subsequently reported to her mother, but the man denied.
He is also charged with rape that is between September 1 and September 30, 2012 at 40 Stanleytown he engaged in sexual activity with a child.
The accused would ask the virtual complainant to pay for items he bought for her. When told by the child that she could not pay because she did not have money, he would demand sexual favours and rape her.
The matter was reported and he was subsequently charged.
The man who is stationed at the Eteringbang Police station in the Cuyuni Mazuruni Region was placed on $75,000 bail on each count and ordered to lodge his passport.
