During the opening of the Tenders at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB), Ministry of Finance, Main Street Georgetown yesterday, 22 contractors vied for the contract to rehabilitate and construct several roadways in Mahdia and Bartica, Regions Seven and Eight respectively.
The Ministry of Public Infrastructure was listed as the Procuring Entity. The project was divided into three Lots: Lot A, the rehabilitation and construction of the Bartica-Potaro Main Access Road; Mahdia to Denham Bridge; Lot B, the rehabilitation and construction of Bartica-Potaro Main Access Road, Denham Bridge to 78-Mile; and Lot C, the construction of the community road at Mahdia, the Dormitory Road and the extension of the School Road.
Tenders were also opened for repairs and maintenance works at the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO). The Procuring Entity was listed as the Ministry of Education, Culture Youth and Sport and the engineer’s estimate was announced at $9.8M
The roof of the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Georgetown is expected to see some rehabilitative works. Eighteen contractors submitted tenders for this project. The procuring entity is also the Ministry of Education, Culture Youth and Sport. The Engineer’s estimate was announced at $9.7M
Tenders were also opened for the rehabilitation of the Sophia Care Centre. The procuring entity was listed as the Ministry of Social Protection and the engineer’s estimate was announced as at $10M.
The Ministry of Social Protection was also listed as the Procuring Entity for the contract to extend the eastern end of the Child Care Protection Secretariat. The engineer’s estimate was announced at $36.9M.
Financial Proposals were also submitted for consultancy services to support the modernization of the Guyana Prison Service (GPS) Infrastructure. The Ministry of Public Security was listed as the Procuring Entity.
Finally, tenders were opened for the work along the Waikinipa Creek, Akawini River, Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam). The Procuring Entity was listed as the Ministry of Public Infrastructure and the engineer’s estimate was announced at $29.9M.
