Murder charges are likely to be laid against Alexis Turpin and her lover, Stephon Barlow.
The couple is currently charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding Stephon Barlow, the father of Turpin’s child, on July 2 at Georgetown, with intent to commit murder.
However, Barlow succumbed to his injuries last month, while in hospital.
They are currently on remand for the indictable offence.
According to reports, Turpin and Johnson have a child together and lived at Lodge, Georgetown. It is alleged that on the day in question, Johnson came home and found the woman in bed with Barlow. It was reported that the two accused dealt Johnson several stabs about his body with a crowbar.
When the matter came up yesterday in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts, Police Prosecutor Neville Jeffers indicated that the case file was sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice and new charges are likely to be instituted against the accused.
Turpin, 25, a cook and Barlow, 28, a mechanic, were instructed to return to court on September 27, for reports.
