During the opening of tenders yesterday at National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB), Ministry of Finance, Main Street, Georgetown, several contractors vied for the contract for the construction of a Science laboratory for the Number Eight Village Secondary School in Region Five (Mahaica/Berbice).
The Procuring Entity is the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) and the Engineer’s estimate was announced at $15.9M.
Students of the Woodley Park Secondary School are expected to also be beneficiaries of a soon to be constructed Science Laboratory. Thirteen contractors submitted bids for this contract. The Procuring Entity is also the Region Five RDC and the Engineer’s estimate is $15.9M.
Tenders were opened for the construction of a Processing Facility at Paramakatoi in Region Eight (Potaro/Siparuni). The Procuring Entity is the Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (IAST). The Engineer’s estimate is $9.6M.
Bids were also opened for a multimillion-dollar contract for the provision of Security services for Region Five.
Tenders for the Completion of the Call Centre at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, Region Three (Essequibo Islands/West Demerara), were also opened. The Procuring Entity is the Ministry of Business and the Engineer’s estimate was announced at $47.4M.
Also, the Central Prison in New Amsterdam, Berbice, is expected to be rehabilitated. Eight contractors submitted bids for this project. The Procuring Entity is the Ministry of Public Infrastructure and the Engineer’s estimate is $59.9M.
Tenders were opened for the construction of a brick prison (Completion-Upgrade of electrical System, installation of generator set and CCTV) at the Camp Street Prison, Georgetown. The Engineer’s estimate was announced at $135.8M.
Finally, tenders were opened for the construction of a Document Centre. The Procuring Entity is the Ministry of Public Infrastructure and the Engineer’s estimate was announced at $109.5M
