Forty-one-year-old Phillip Viveiros was killed on the Linden Soesdyke Highway in the vicinity of Adventure yesterday morning sometime between 02:00 and 05:00 hrs.
According to Commander ‘E’ Division Snr. Superintendent, Calvin Brutus, it was reported that Viveiros had been imbibing alcohol earlier in the night at a nearby shop before leaving around 02:00 hrs to report for duty on a farm in the area.
It is alleged that he was hit by more than one vehicle (because of the extent of his injuries) and his body parts were left lying around.
Ida Viveiros, a sister of the victim, said she last saw her brother, who is a farmer, when he left for the farm. She said that he had recently returned from the interior and was working on the farm.
According to a police report, which was confirmed by the victim’s sister, the man was killed when he was hit by a car, just a few feet from where another brother was killed on August 15, 2015.
