…gun handed over to cops
Residents of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, did not spare two bandits yesterday when they tried to rob a resident, Roger Lovell in his home at gunpoint around 12:30 hrs.
The men received a sound thrashing and were covered in blood when they were handed over to the police.
They were eventually taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where they remained patients.
One of the bandits has given his name as Patrick Goodluck while the second suspect has not been identified up to press time.
A .32 pistol was recovered from the men by the residents and handed over to the police.
In a release, the police said that they are investigating an alleged attempted robbery under arms by two males, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
Investigation so far revealed that Lovell was at home sleeping when he was awakened by the men, who demanded cash and jewellery. When the victim refused, he was beaten about his head and body.
During the process, he made an alarm and a group of public- spirited individuals from the community responded and managed to disarm the gunman. They then inflicted a severe beating on the intruders.
They were rushed to the hospital and are currently under police guard.

Good job by the residents. I do hope the criminals see that the residents are tired of these crimes and are going to stand up now for their rights.
