Fog at Timehri Airport caused misery to passengers

Dynamic Airways International Flight 2D401 out of NYs JFK Airport departed over an hour late from its scheduled 1am departure on Friday, August 5, 2016 bound for Cheddi Jagan Airport. The flight circled Cheddi Jagan Airport several times attempting to land but could not because of thick, dense fog covering the entire area. Subsequently, a decision was taken to turn the aircraft around to Trinidad’s Piarco Airport for fear of running low on fuel. Now this is all from passengers’ account I am relaying here. Passengers were reportedly frightened as well as scared.
The plane landed at Piarco and passengers had to remain in the aircraft for over 2 hours. Then they were allowed to disembark and stay until after 3 pm in a waiting area. It was antagonizing for my little sister who was on that flight, as I am sure, other passengers. Dynamic reportedly had to wait for pilots from Cheddi Jagan to fly back the aircraft there. After 3pm the aircraft left Trinidad— finally arriving at Timehri.
You would not hear about this or see this on the local news. It is one of many hidden ‘punishment’ stories Guyanese have to go through traveling to and from NY, yet we can’t have betterment in terms of a reliable service with these airlines. They treat us like garbage. What kind of airport is this too, when you have such predicaments with fog that airplanes cannot land and are forced to turn back? You think this nonsense can happen at world class airports? You think Jetblue can turn back from NY JFK because there is fog at JFK? Nonsense!
Last week, Delta services encountered a major shutdown in Atlanta, paralyzing all flights in the USA. The CEO went on video and issued a national apology to all passengers. Companies like GTT and such like could learn a thing or two from other corporate companies— like doing the decent and mannerly thing.
