Despite a fine all-rounder performance from Guyanese Travis Blyden Pioneer CC went down
to Island Wide CC by 100 runs when the Clement Busta Lawrenceville 50-over competition continued recently in New York, USA.
Debutant Blyden, who played for Guyana Defence Force, top scored with 90 as his team Pioneer CC were bowled out for 165 in 36 overs in reply to Island Wide CC score of 265-9 off their reduced quota of 40 overs at Roy Wilkinson Park. Blyden led the bowling for his team with 3-33.
The all-rounder amassed 527 runs and took 27 wickets for Evergreen Sports Club in the recently concluded Trinidad and Tobago South Championship. Blyden who also played in Canada captained Evergreen for the first time; they finished ninth in the fourteen-team competition. (Zaheer Mohamed)
