Regal and Parika Defenders recorded victories when the Wolf’s Challenge 20-over softball tournament continued yesterday at Malteenoes Sports Club.
Regal defeated Speed Boat by seven wickets in the open category. Batting first Speed Boat managed 136-9 with Wasim Hossein scoring 21; extras contributed 15. Delroy Pereira grabbed 4-22 and Troy Kippins 2-7. Regal responded with 141-3 in 14.5 overs. Samuel Kingston struck four sixes in a top score of 39 while Chien Gittens got 31 (3×4,1×6).
Parika Defenders beat Fishermen XI by 42 runs. Defenders took first strike and posted 196-7. Aftar Khan slammed 46, Beesham Singh made 45 while Ucil Armstrong and Ramesh Rambharose 18 each.
Satro Seeraj claimed four wickets while Puran Singh two. Fishermen XI were limited to 154-9 in reply. Sunil Dyal scored 33 and Robert Persaud 15; Armstrong bagged 6-12 and Devanand Kannan 3-22.
