Seventeen-year-old Narayan Ramdhani emerged champion when the four-day Trophy Stall Independence Open and Age Group Badminton tournament concluded at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Saturday with matches
played in the Open and Under-11 & 13 events.
In the Open Men Singles finals, Sunburst Champion Narayan Ramdhani defeated Jonathan Mangra in a three setter 21-5, 19-21, 21-9 to be crowned the Champion, while the third place went to Marlon Chung who defeated Avinash Odit also in a three setter 24-22, 15-21, 15-21.
The tournament, which was organised by the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA), was played as a part of the 50th Jubilee celebrations

Under-13 boys singles- Andrew Debidin (2nd), Omar Samad (3rd) & Ronald Hamilton (3rd)
Under-13 girls singles-Wonita Yang (1st), Reba Ramlall (2nd) & Reanna Persaud (3rd)
Under-11 boys singles- John Wang (1st), Abeva Jones (2nd) & George Ramlall (3rd)
Under-11 girls singles-Gabriela Pertab (1st), Emily Choo-A-Fat (2nd) & Kyla Jordon (3rd)
The Other Finals and Third Place play-off played were:
Under-11 Boys Finals: Jason Wang defeated Abeva jones; 21-16
Third place went to George Ramlall who defeated Jonathan Debidin: 21-18
Under-11 Girls Finals: Gabriella Pertab defeated Emily Choo-A-Fat: 21-13
Third place went to Kyla Jordon
Under-13 Boys Finals: Andrew Debidin defeated Omar Samad: 22-20
Third Place went to Ronald Hamilton who defeated Verun Challu: 21-10
Under-13 Girls Finals: Wonita Yang defeated Reba Ramlall: 21-6
Third Place went to Reanna Persaud who defeated Jayde DaSilva: 21-7
