Nadine Jerrick fires back at City Hall

Have the folks at City Hall ever heard the old saying ‘That there isn’t just what dog named Pompeii’? Do they know how the word ‘Namesake’ was derived? I think it is just plain arrogant and stupid to believe that a first and last name combination belongs to only one person in an entire country. Could you believe the Council’s PRO, who claims that she researched the entire Jerrick clan, and is now challenging my authenticity and existence and that of others?
I have observed that some persons at City Hall are totally intolerant to being subjected to constructive criticism. How arrogant is this? You are being paid by the citizenry through taxes and you are intolerant to being assessed by these same persons? Is it your wish that John Public must cheer you on even when you are doing an awful job of managing our capital? Only an authoritarian municipal government would be intolerant to such. We must vigorously exercise our right to criticize every level of Government.
The health of our children, the vigor of our communities, the survival of this nation depends on the courage to criticize politicians and public servants. Our light is going out. Our freedoms are dying. Before long we will lament the days long past when we could freely celebrate our independence as citizens.
We need answers. The citizens of Georgetown deserve better accountability than what the Mayor and Town Clerk are giving us. Let’s not forget that we have a right as citizens to demand accountability from our municipal government, to speak out freely against corruption and injustice, to tell the Mayor and City Council where they can get off, and to elect representatives in touch with needs of the citizenry.
