The much anticipated Upper Corentyne Cricket Association 5/5 Mashramani Cup 2016 has received financial support from N.P.G Packing & Plastic Inc. of Wellington Park, Corentyne, Berbice.
Ms. Padmini Ramsammy of N.P.G Packaging & Plastic Inc hands over the sponsorship cheque to Mr. Vicky Bharosay, Treasurer of the UCCA. Also in photo are staff members of N.P.G Packing & Plastic Inc.
The one day cricket extravaganza is set for February 21, 2016 at the No. 69 Vikings ground featuring 10 top teams from the Upper Corentyne area. The 10 selected teams are: No. 70 A, Crabwood Creek Sports Club, No. 72 All Star, No. 72 Cut and Load, Scottsburg United, Yakusari Caribs, No. 69 Vikings, Corriverton Cricket Club, No. 73 Young Warriors and No. 48 Challengers.
At a simple drawing done recently the first round matches are as follows: Game 1. Yakusari Caribs vs. No. 69 Vikings, game 2. No. 73 Young Warriors vs. No. 72 All Star, game 3. No. 72 Cut and Load vs. No. 70A, game 4. Corriverton CC vs. No. 48 Challengers and game 5. Crabwood Creek Sports Club vs. Scottsburg United.
The day’s action will start at 9:30hrs. Lots to eat and drinks will be on sale. Admission $200, children under 12 years are free. There will also be gate prizes to be won. Added entertainment will be provided by Spanish Eyes sound system.
The President and executives of the UCCA takes this opportunity to thank Mr. Surendra Ganesh proprietor of N.P.G Packaging & Plastic Inc. for their contribution towards cricket development and more so the Upper Corentyne 5/5 Mashramani Cup 2016. Proceeds from this event will go towards cricket development at the youth level in the Upper Corentyne area.
