The finals of the under-13 cricket (hardball) sponsored by the Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association and Trophy Stall in collaboration with the Demerara Cricket Club is set for tomorrow from 6:00pm at the DCC Ground in Lance Gibbs Street, Queenstown.
Everest kids defeated GYO last Wednesday night in the first semi-finals. GYO batting first made 103 for 6 wickets off their allotted 20 overs. Everest replied with 104 for 5 wickets off 19.1 overs with Yugister Persaud leading the way with an undefeated 32.
On Thursday night in the other semi-finals, Bel Air Rubis made light work of GCC. GCC were restricted to 56 for 7 off 20 overs. Shivanand Gosain took 4 for 13 off 4 overs. Bel Air Rubis made 58 with 2 wickets down in 9 overs. Shivanand Gosain again leading the way with 21 not out.
Cricket fan are urged to come out and support the young kids, who are some future stars are in the making. Admission is free. Trophies for the finals have been provided by the Trophy Stall.
