as many matches.
Agricola, coming off a defeat by Soesdyke Falcons in their previous clash did not recover and fell to the home team which was led by the competition’s leading goal scorer to date, Kevin Dalton who blasted a hat-trick.
Dalton, who went into the match with five goals under his belt, wasted little time in establishing that Grove meant business. From as early as the second minute he inked his name on the score sheet in handing his team the lead.
The dominant home team never allowed the Agricola boys to settle down as they lived in the visitors defensive third. On four minutes, Dalton was again on target for his and Grove’s second goal.
The dominance of the defending champions and Dalton continued when the leading marksman achieved his hat-trick in the 26th minute; Agricola was able to reduce the deficit on the stroke of half time, Wayne Niles breaching Grove’s defense as the first half ended 3-1.
Soon after the break, Grove continued their scoring form when Nickolai Matthews hit the network in the 36th minute. There was a brief lull in the scoring up until the 54th minute when Grove netted their fifth goal of the match, Threvon Pluck, the scorer.
The final goal of the match was converted by Denzel Crawford in the 59th minute to seal a comfortable win for Grove who will now play Mocha Champs in the second semi final on Saturday at the same venue. The Final group match saw Soesdyke Falcons taking on Kuru Kururu Warriors on Sunday.
