Bush Lot United Sports Club defeat Paradise in goodwill cricket encounter

Bush Lot United Sports Club (BLUSC) continued their winning ways when they defeated Golden Elparabel (Eldorado, Paradise and Belladrum) Cricket Club of Paradise, West Coast Berbice (W.C.B) by 32 runs in a feature 25 overs goodwill game played last Sunday at the Bush Lot Cricket ground.
Taking first strike on a good pitch, the home team found themselves in some early trouble as they lost two wickets in the first over to pacer David Jones to be 2-1.  However, opener Aron Matabeek with 70 (9×4) and Troy McKenzie with 34(5×4) put together an 83 runs partnership for the third wicket before they were separated as Bush Lot went on to make 157.
Bowling for Golden Elparabel David Jones was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets with Wendell Fordyce picking up 2.
When Golden Elparabel took to the crease, they were off to an encouraging start as they reached 43 before both openers were dismissed. They never recovered and were all out for 125. Top scoring for Golden Elparabel was Egbert Webster with 19.
Bowling for Bush Lot United, Javed Saywack led the way with 3 wickets while Winston Joseph picked up 2.
