During the recent graduation exercise at the Christianburg Wismar Secondary School, Chairperson, Mishaun Scott-Sealey, threw out a ‘Get Vex’ challenge to the stakeholders, PTA and Old Students Association.
That challenge bore fruit when the school received a chair suite, yesterday. The presentation was made in the Head Teacher’s office.
According to Deputy Head Mistress, Haley Rutherford, she was overwhelmed with the gift. “We the staff of this great institution, Christianburg Wismar Secondary School, are very grateful for this gift from David’s Steel Reinforcement. It brings enhancement to the Head Teacher’s office because the school is rising in academics.”
Ms Rutherford said that the gift came from a ‘Get Vex’ challenge the chairperson of the recently concluded graduation exercises Ms. Mishaun Scott Sealey threw out. She claimed Ms. Sealey asked them to get really angry and donate things to the school where they see fit to enhance the school.
On behalf of David’s Steel Re enforcement Ms. Jacqueline Adams-David and former student of CWSS said that the idea was that of her husband. “The idea was my husband’s. He wanted to give back to the school so when I heard about the ‘Get Vex’ challenge I took the opportunity to donate the chair set.”
Ms. Adams-George who said she has a long history with the school dating back to the opening of the school 40 years ago, said she is very happy to give back. She noted she had three other siblings who attended the school. Her daughter is now attending the school.
Her brother, Claudric, is one of the three old students who bought a lap top for the Best Graduating Business Student at the recent graduation exercise. Two old students are Chief of Staff Brigadier Mark Phillips and Dr. Colin Williams.
Ms Haley-Rutherford and other staff members are asking others to get vex and assist the school.
