The Flying Stars Cycling Club, under the patronage of Randolph ‘Ducky’ Singh will host the 13th Annual Victor Macedo Memorial Cycle Road Race tomorrow morning starting at 07:30hrs. Sponsored by Macedo Transportation Services, the race will attract some of the country’s top cyclists when activities get underway at Homestretch Avenue. However, the riders will convene at Peter Rose Street, Queenstown for a rolling start to Homestretch Avenue for the official send off.
The senior and junior cyclists will ride all the way to Dora, Linden/Soesdyke Highway before retracing their wheels to the place of origin while the veterans, juveniles and mountain bikers would culminate the first leg of their journey at the foot of the hill just past the Splashmins Fun Park before also turning back to Homestretch Avenue.
Michael Anthony was last year’s winner in the senior and junior category but there will be a new champion since Anthony is no longer in that category, while juvenile rider, Raphael Leung, who had won last year’s event is no longer eligible for this category. Keon Thomas will defend his title in the mountain bike category.
