– freed five months ago for businessman’s murder
Freed just five months ago for the murder of businessman, Bedi Ramjewan, an Albouystown man is now wanted for the execution-style killing of a Mocha, East Bank Demerara resident at Turning Point, Tucville.
Police said that Edward Skeete called ‘Pretty Boy’, or ‘Pretty Face,’ 28, is wanted for the murder of Rayon Clementson, 27, who was shot on July 14, and succumbed last Friday night at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
Initial reports had indicated that Clementson, who was known to the police, had only sustained a bullet wound to the upper right thigh. Another man, Ayodele Solomon, 32, was shot in the back during the same attack.
According to reports, Clementson, of Mocha Arcadia, East Bank Demerara, and Ayodele Solomon, of Tucville, were in the vicinity of ‘Turning Point’, located near Arapaima and Jackson Streets, Tucville, when someone shot at them.
Kaieteur News understands that Solomon, who was taken to the GPHC by a taxi driver, alleged that he was hit by a stray bullet after someone shot at another individual. After being shot, Clementson took refuge in a nearby trench. Police took him out of the trench and took him to the hospital. Although he was clearly in pain, Clementson was conscious and did not appear to be severely injured.
A police bulletin issued yesterday gave suspect Edward Skeete’s date of birth as December 23, 1987.
He is said to be of mixed ancestry. His last known address was given as Lot 309 Independence Boulevard, Albouystown, Georgetown.
Anyone with information that may lead to his arrest is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 225-6411, 225-8196, 226-7065, 227-1149, 911 or the nearest police station.
Skeete was previously charged with killing businessman Bedi Ramjewan, 40, during a mid-morning robbery at Crown Dam, Industry, East Coast Demerara, on April, 27, 2011.
The allegation was that Skeete and another participated in the robbery and that Skeete shot the businessman in his chest and beat him in the head with a helmet. Ramjewan had reportedly just left a commercial bank in the city, and the suspects reportedly escaped with some $2M.
But Skeete was freed on February 24, 2015, after a Jury returned a unanimous verdict of not guilty.
