Over the past week burglars have been breaking into residents’ homes on the Essequibo Coast.
In one case at Lima, Essequibo Coast, the home of a vendor who currently resides overseas was broken into. It was reported that the bandits carted away household appliances.
Meanwhile, recently in Henrietta Village, a young engineer lodged a report of break and entry to that police station. The engineer also suffered losses of household appliances.
In another report, alert neighbours after hearing unusual sounds a few nights back, prevented a house from been burglarised in Henrietta.
The burglars who had a waiting car managed to escape unhurt when the residents pursued them.
More recently, the police caught and prosecuted a number of persons who were linked to a series of break-ins that occurred in the Anna Regina Old market. (Yannason Duncan)
