The Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) has named Pre-Cadet, Cadet, Junior and Senior players for training and preparation and possible selection to represent Guyana at the upcoming major regional and international competitions.
The competitions that the GTTA is eyeing in the upcoming months include: Caribbean Pre-Cadet Championships scheduled for June 2-9, Bridgetown, Barbados; the ITTF World Junior and Cadet Open Circuit Event and Latin American Table Tennis Championships, June 19-21 and June 23– 29, Puerto Rico; Silver Bowl Open, May 9-11, Trinidad and Tobago; the Caribbean Senior Table Tennis Championships, July 2-9, Fort-de France, Martinique.
The following constitute the list of players chosen for the in view of training and preparation for possible selection and representation of Guyana
Players named in view of training and preparations for the Caribbean Pre-Cadet Championships in Barbados are:
Boys 11 Years and Under: Kaysan Ninvalle, Krystian Sahadeo, Baoxiana Liu, Colin Wong Dhanesh Persaud, Christopher Shephard, Aaron Persaud, Paul Bess and Alexandre De Abreu.
Girls 11 Years and Under: Cieara Sukhu, Thuraia Thomas and Chelsea Hutson.
Boys 13 Years and Under: Tyriq Saunders, Jonathan Findlay, Niron Bissu, Shakiel Lewis,
Jamal Nicholas and Yendistir Persaud.
Girls 13 Years and Under: Nevaeh Clarkston, Selenas Jackman and Abigale Martin.
Players named in view of training and preparation for possible selection for the World Junior and Cadet Open ITTF World Junior Circuit and the Latin American Junior and Cadet Championships in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico are:
Junior Boys 18 Years and Under: Shemar Britton, Kyle Edghill, Elishaba Johnson, Jamal Duff, Alex Hopkinson, Sheldon Atherley, Miguel Wong, Jeremey Singh, Yog Mahadeo and
Nicholas Romains.
Junior Girls 18 Years and Under: Chelsea Edghill, Pricillia Greaves, Kristie Lopes, Aneka Philips, Jamali Homer, Davona Bess and Britany Bunbury.
Men’s and Women’s Teams named in view of Training and preparation for the Senior Caribbean Championships in Fort de France, Martinique are:
Men’s Team: Shemar Britton, Nigel Bryan, Edinho Lewis, Stephan Corlette, Kyle Edghill, Orin Hickerson, Joel Alleyne, Elishaba Johnson, Brad Belle and Brandon Belle.
Veterans: Colin France, Donald Duff, Raynor Anderson and Xenopiah Goliath
Women’s Team: Trenace Lowe, Chelsea Edghill, Natalie Cummings, Akecia Nedd and Michelle John
The GTTA Executive Committee will be meeting with the players and parents to discuss criteria for selection of the respective teams and identified training times for the respective squads that have been identified.
