DEAR EDITOR,
In its manifesto, the PPP says, “With economic sovereignty restored, our country started, in 2006, the most remarkable period of economic growth in its history. Since then, we have sustained nine years of uninterrupted economic growth, out-performing almost every single country in the Americas…”
My question to the PPP: Why are the workers in Guyana still the lowest paid in the Americas? They should be ashamed to mention any growth on one hand, and then condemn APNU/AFC for promising the workers of our country an increase in their salary.
If, as the PPP claims, an APNU/AFC government will bankrupt our country, where under the heavens will the PPP get the funds to implement their “Santa Claus” list of promises?
The PPP manifesto is full of promises, and these promises are all shallow and will never be implemented by them. It’s all elections gimmick. If one was ignorant, you would have thought that this party is currently in opposition. For a party to be in office for so long, and now be recommending solutions to the mountain of problems in the country, it is time for them to go.
I am calling on all Guyanese to vote overwhelmingly for the combined opposition on May 11th. Our country will rise again under the new government. Charles Sugrim
