Dr Ramayya apologises to Zulficar Mustapha
On a television programme titled “Issues of the People” aired on November 19, 2011 on DTV Channel 8, I, Veerasammy Ramayyah, executive member of the AFC, alleged that Mr. Zulficar Mustapha, (who was Regional Chairman for Region Six at the time and a prominent member of the PPP/C) was corrupt and dishonest.
I, Veerasammy Ramayyah, hereby unreservedly withdraw all imputations made by me upon the character, good name and conduct of Mr. Zulficar Mustapha.
I acknowledge that the statements and allegations made by me were wholly unfounded. I wish to express my deep regret to Mr. Zulficar Mustapha and to sincerely apologise to him, his family, his friends, the Regional Administration (Region 6) and the PPP/C for having made the statements and for any embarrassment and inconvenience, which may have been caused to him.
