The Wakenaam Cricket Committee (WCC) has congratulated Keemo Paul on his selection to the West Indies U-19 to participate in the NAGICO Super 50 in Trinidad and Tobago later this month.
Paul was instrumental in Guyana winning the 2014 Regional U-19 three-day and 50-over tournaments which was contested here in August. He was voted the best all-rounder of the competition. Public Relations Officer of the WCC Keval Persaud said that although he is disappointed about the non selection of Ricardo Adams on the national team, Paul’s elevation is most welcome since he would have started his cricket on the island; he wished him success in the tournament. Persaud pointed out that Wakenaam has over the years produced a number of cricketers for the national team at various levels including Oyono Sampson, Ryan Adams, Hamlet Gordon and Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, businessman and Sans Souci SC opener Heera Sukram has donated a pair of booths to Paul in recognition of his selection.
In an invited comment Paul thanked Sukram and said he will put his best foot forward.
