Devonshire Castle are R & D Engineering Service T20 champs

Devonshire Castle defeated Charity by seven wickets to capture the R & D Engineering Service T20 title on Sunday last at Walton Hall ground in North Essequibo. Charity batted first and scored 144-9 in 20 overs.
Wayne Fernandes led with 45, Terrence Tulsieram 25 and Keisho Rooplall 20. Manoj Lall captured 4-22 from four overs and Ramesh Narine 2-24. Devonshire Castle replied with 146-3 in 18 overs.
Anthony Persaud top scored with 56 not out, Basil Persaud 26 and Ovindra Persaud an unbeaten 25. Tulsieram took 2-23. Lall was named man-of-the-match. Devonshire Castle took home a trophy and $60,000 while Charity collected $35,000.
Meanwhile, Walton Hall overcame Ravens by six wickets in the third place playoff. Ravens were bowled out for 90 in 10 overs, batting first. Walton Hall responded with 91-4 in 9.2 overs.
