Father, 40, on incest charge
A father was yesterday placed on $150,000 bail after he was charged for engaging in sexual activity with his 15-year-old daughter.
The 40-year-old man who appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court is alleged to have behaved inappropriately with the teen following the break-up between himself and the girl’s mother.
The court heard that the Kitty, Georgetown man had been involved in sexual activity with the girl when she was residing at his premises, between January and April. While the circumstances surrounding the man’s arrest are unknown, the court was told that the 15-year-old now resides with her grandmother.
The case was prosecuted by Police Inspector Michael Grant. The accused was granted bail and is expected to appear in court again on August 8.
