Shawn McKenzie and Colin Cave marked 11 games each to guide Sparton to victory in the final of the Golyn and Sons dominoes tournament played recently at Little Mark Boutique, Festival City, North Ruimveldt.
Sparton ended on 34 games ahead of second place TNT with 30 and Speed 24. Rafeek Khan chalked 12 and Jillian Hyman 11 for TNT while Trevor Smith and Dane Bynoe scored 11 apiece for Speed who drew the bye to the final.
Sparton won the semi-final with 38 games, while TNT placed second on 32 and Mix Up third on 28. Dexter Thompson and McKenzie made 10 each for the winners, Smith scored 12 and Bynoe 11 for TNT, while Mark Wiltshire and Clarence Whitehead managed 12 and 11 respectively for Mix Up.
Sparton pocketed a trophy and $80,000, TNT $40,000 and Speed $20,000. Khan was given the player of the match award.
Meanwhile, Mark Wiltshire will be hosting a 20/20 tournament on Sunday at La Bell Hotel and bar, Norton Street. Entrance fee is $6,000. The winning team will receive $60,000, runner up $30,000 and third place $15,000.
