The consumption of too much alcohol was perhaps the underlying cause of a two-vehicle collision at Thomas Lands, in the vicinity of the National Park, last night.
Parked amidst the water lilies after being slammed off the road
This publication understands that the reportedly drunken driver of motor car PFF 6051 was heading east along the thoroughfare when he reportedly lost control and slammed into a parked motor car, PNN 4284.
Both vehicles ended up in the canal on the southern side of the roadway.
The driver of PFF 6051, who it is alleged was speeding at the time of the collision, was taken into police custody. Officers on the scene were reportedly patiently awaiting the return of the driver of the other vehicle to break the ‘damaging’ news to him.
When this publication arrived on the scene preparations were being made to remove the vehicle reportedly in the wrong.
It is believed that the owner of PNN 4284 had parked the vehicle on the road shoulder in order to indulge in kite flying activities in the National Park.
