Akini Adams XI took first innings points from Mahendra Persaud XI when the New Opportunity Corps (NOC) Sports club development Cricket programme continued on Saturday last.
Adams XI took first strike and made 51-5 off their first innings allocation of 15 overs. Sherwin Greenidge and Nelon Cadogan were the only batsmen that managed double figures with ten apiece. Isaiah Latchman grabbed 4-15 off four overs.
In reply, Persaud XI limped to 37 all out in 15 overs. Cadogan captured 4 for 21 off 6 overs and Akini Adams 3 for 5.
With a lead of 14, Adams XI rattled up 160-7 off their second innings quota of 25 overs. Besham Dasrath led with 34 (4×4,1×6), Ricardo Peters made 33 (6×4) and Cadogan 29 (3×4,2×6). Latchman grabbed 4-44 from 10 overs to end with match figures of 8-59.
Set a target of 174 for victory, Persaud XI reached 73-6 when bad light stopped play at 17:15 hrs. Ravindra Narian top scored with 36 (2×4,3×6). Skipper Adams was the pick of the bowlers with 5 for 32 off 7 overs.
This game was organized as part of the NOC Sports Club youth development programme and part of the players’ preparation for the upcoming Under-19 tournament.
