KIA Motors, under the auspices of Rudisa Motor Company (Guyana) Inc., yesterday trumped up sponsorship to Dyna’s Ravens, who will compete in a Suriname Basketball Association (SBA) tournament in Suriname over the next week.
“KIA Motors is happy to be associated with the Ravens and
sponsoring their trip to Suriname; we wish them all the best; this is KIA’s way of giving back to the society for their support over the last two years,” Christine Chowargir, Sales Rep at Rudisa said.
The Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) facilitated the tour that will also have the locally-based, Colts participating in the competition. Kaieteur Sport understands that Ravens will wing out tomorrow.
Coach of Dyna’s Ravens, Darcel Harris, said that without support from KIA, the trip would not have been possible. “We could not foot the bill ourselves, so they (SBA) organised through KIA to help us out,” Harris told this newspaper.
He expressed his gratitude for the support, stating that “it’s good to have companies like KIA in your corner helping you out”. He said that the team is in the quarterfinals of the tournament, and is expected to return on February 24 once they advance through the competition.
