He had the words ‘Rebecca’ and ‘Love’ tattooed on his left arm, a cross and ‘Jesus’ printed on his right arm, and someone had shot him in the head.
Police said that the man’s unidentified body was found at around 13:00 hrs yesterday at the foreshore of the Atlantic Ocean, near Ruby, East Bank Essequibo.
He had been shot at close range to the head, with the bullet apparently entering through the left side and leaving a gaping exit wound on the right.
Police believe that he was slain sometime on Wednesday.
The victim, of East Indian ancestry, was barefoot, and was wearing a black vest and black three-quarter pants.
He is dark in complexion and police sources estimate him to be about five feet seven in height and in his thirties.
The words ‘Rebecca’ and ‘God’ were tattooed on the inside left forearm and a cross and ‘Jesus’ on his right inner forearm.
The still-unidentified body is at the Ezekiel Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem.
It is the third brutal murder for the week.
On Sunday, the battered body of 56-year-old estate labourer Jamaludeen Sattaur was found in his home at Stewartville, West Coast Demerara. The house was
ransacked and several items, including money, were missing.
And on Wednesday, 20-year-old Godfrey Jhaggroo called “Oh-Oh,” was shot at close range at the back of the head during a dispute at Belle Vue, West Bank Demerara.
