PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad – Large crowds are expected at Queen’s Park Oval as the second leg of the CEKLON Mobile Cup moves to Trinidad from today. All tickets for the upcoming matches between West Indies and India on Friday (today) and West Indies and Sri Lanka on Sunday have been sold.
Tickets sales are also going well for the preliminary round match between India vs Sri Lanka (Tuesday, July 9) and the Grand Final (Thursday, July 11).
WICB’s Event Manager Cindy McLean confirmed the details on tickets and said excitement is building for the second leg of the CELKON Mobile Series. She also indicated online sales at www.windiescricket.com have increased significantly for this event.
“We can confirm that all the tickets, made available to the public, for Friday’s match and Sunday’s match in the CELKON Mobile Cup have been purchased well in advance. This is great news as the fans continue to show their support for the game. Everyone saw the high quality of play and the excitement in Jamaica and now we expect a similar level of enthusiasm here in Trinidad,” McLean said.
“We expect the ground to be full on Friday and Sunday as fans come out to support their favourite team. The West Indies team has been doing very well so far, as they lead the points table, and the home fans have has stepped up their support.”
McLean added: “Queen’s Park Oval is one of the iconic cricket grounds and we expect a festive and party atmosphere. We have put all systems in place to make sure everyone who comes to the Oval will have a wonderful experience from start to finish.”
All matches start at 9:30 am. Gates open at 7:30 am.
