Mackeson ‘Keep Your Five Alive’ storms Albouystown…Another eight teams through to the next round
Tense finishes, most of which penalty shootouts decided, were the hallmark of rivalries Saturday night when the 2013 Mackeson ‘Keep Your Five Alive’ football competition continued at Punt Trench and School Street, Albouystown. 
Rasville ‘A’ opened the night’s proceedings with a victory that against Middle East on penalties after a nil-all stalemate in regulation time. Nedd Fraser then scored in the 13th minute to give West Back Road a 1-0 win against Bent Street in the second game.
Rasta’s continued the tense night of competition when they also won on penalties against Island All-Stars before a huge crowd in Albouystown. Shem Porter had a brace in the fourth and 10th minutes to give Alexander Village a 2-1 win against Charlotte Street.
Devon Charles scored the lone goal in the seventh minute for Charlotte Street that drew level with Alexander Village, but Porter spoiled their hope of a win with a marksman-like finish to seal the deal in the last half of the contest.
Middle Road and North East played to a 1-1 draw before North East won on penalties. Jermaine Junior scored for Middle Road in the third minute before S. Brown scored for North East in the seventh minute to level the scores after regulation time expired.
Team LA defeated Howe’s Street on penalties after a 1-1 stalemate. Gregory ‘Jackie Chan’ Richardson scored in the fifth minute then Dillon Kelly equalised in the sixth minute. River View also defeated Leopold Street on penalties.
In the final game of a pulsating night of football action, Devon Forde scored in the 10th minute and Roy Samuels in the 14th minute to give Albouystown ‘B’ a 2-0 victory over Kingstown that saw them through to the next round in the competition.

The event is being held under the theme “Your skill, your style, your five, your stout” and will be played at several venues in Georgetown with the top team taking home $300,000 and runner-up $150,000 in cash prize. Trophies will also accompany the cash prizes.
Following the competition in Albouystown, another eight teams have joined those that went into the next round from California Square last Wednesday night.
The games are played for 15 minutes; 7½ minutes per half with no extra time allowed in the preliminary round if the game is drawn after regulation time; a penalty shootout will decide the team that moves forward to the next round. However, extra time will be allowed in the final game; six minutes and three minutes for each of the teams.
