According to Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Dr. Frank Anthony, the construction of the aquarium will begin this year. The idea behind the construction is for visitors to be able to have a greater feel and appreciation for the aquatic world.
Adding that the aquarium will be built in the upper flat of the building, Dr. Anthony said there will also be further enhancement to the aviary section.
He explained that in this section, visitors will be able to press a button and with the aid of an earpiece, listen to the sounds of the specific bird that they are viewing.
“It becomes more interactive and kids can learn more, and there will be more information at their disposal, we want to make it more like a learning environment.”
The museum is currently under the umbrella of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, which is the governing body. The main responsibility of the department is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the country’s history.
