The Guyana Draughts Association held another National competition last Sunday and the matches, played at the National Gymnasium, were all keenly contested.
The games were played using the International format and played on 100 square boards.
The competition was played on a round robin system and three players tallied 12 points each to jointly occupy first place with no second and third place being awarded.
Floyd Cumberbatch from Linden, Khemraj Pooranmall from Georgetown and Davenand Persaud from Tushen, East Bank Essequibo all tied at the top of the points table.
Trophies were donated by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
According to President of the Guyana Draughts Association Jairam, a competition using the local game rules on the smaller boards will be contested at a later date.
