Republic Bank Under-17 Inter Zone cricket…
The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) is currently fine tuning preparations for the upcoming Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Under-17 Inter County tournament and will host the final of the Republic Bank Under-17 Inter Zone tournament between powerhouse Lower Corentyne and West Berbice at the Area ‘H’ Ground tomorrow.
The third-place game will also be played tomorrow between New Amsterdam/Canje and Upper Corentyne.
At the Area ‘H’ Ground, Lower Corentyne would be led by Gudakesh Motie Kanhai who will spare head a strong line up that also include Nicholas Cameron, Daniel Lewis, Sharaz Ramcharran, Rohan Ramcharran, Arif Chan, David Latchaya and Shailendra Shameer.
The bowling consists of pacer Manoj Looknauth and Youraj Rambarran with support from spinner Chan, Shameer, Captain Gudakesh Motie Kanhai, Daniel Lewis and David Latchaya. West Berbice will depend heavily on the likes of Nick Ramsaroop, Skipper Quacy McPherson, Brian Nurse, Parmanand Ramdhan and pacer Grisean Grant to perform well if they will have any chance of upsetting the defending Inter Zone Under-17 Champions.
At the Port Mourant Ground, Upper Corentyne will be led by Viendra Gooniah, Devin Baldeo, Seon Persaud and Devendra Ramroop when they take on New Amsterdam/Canje for the 3rd place.
New Amsterdam/Canje challenge will come from National Under-15 player Shimron Hetmyer, Captain Hakeem Hinds, Leon Andrews, Nial Smith and Wagar McKenzie. All matches would start at 09.30 hours with each team batting 50 overs each.
The Junior Selection Committee of the BCB led by Chairman Leslie Solomon will select the Berbice Under-17 team at the end of the tournament. Representatives of Republic Bank will meet with the teams before the match and in the afternoon to assist with the presentation of prizes.

West Berbice: Nick Ramsaroop, Quacy McPherson, Avishram Sewkarran, Ridwan Ramjohn, Derek Narine, Parmanand Ramshod, Royston Wade, Hemchand Persaud, Grisean Grant, Thomas Mc Donald, Lalchand Ramoo, Amar Wandram and Paul Dipnarine.
New Amsterdam/Canje: Shimron Hetmyer (VC), Leon Andrews, Suresh Dhanai, Hakeem Hinds (C), Clifton Lindie, Keirre Henry, Martin Singh, Adrian Persaud, Quacy Mickle, Joshua Giddings, Ameer Khan, Nial Smith, Wagar McKenzie, Kassim Khan, Royden Phil, Totaram Latchminarine and Marvin Braithwaite.
Upper Corentyne: Viendra Gooniah (c), Devin Baldeo, Seon Persaud, Tameshwar Kumar, Devendra Boodhoo, Rishi Persaud, Asksay Homraj, Akash Persaud, Ravindranauth Edwin, Devendra Ramroop, Edison Williams, Devendra Chandradat, Deon Esau, Mohamed Deochand and Joshua Rollins.
