Puerto Rico’s River Plate arrive today for Alpha clash

Puerto Rico’s River Plate Football Club will arrive in Guyana about 13:00hrs today on a chartered flight to keep their date with Alpha the ‘Hammer’ United this weekend in the Caribbean Football Union Club Championship second round encounter.
The Puerto Ricans have agreed to play both legs here in Guyana and are set to face Alpha at the Guyana National Stadium on Friday from 20:00hrs under lights in the first leg, while they will collide on Sunday from 15:00hrs at the GCC, Bourda in the return game.
Alpha President Odinga Lumumba had said recently his team is ready for the challenge.
Alpha will hope to do better than their local counterparts Milerock of Linden, who were beaten in the fight leg of their tie with the Trinidad Defence Force team.
