Engineers’ estimates top US$7M
Works on the Relief Canal for the East Demerara Water Conservancy (three projects estimated at $1.47B or US$7.3M), are now poised to take off as bids were opened yesterday at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board for the Construction of the Conservancy Relief High Level Sluice Outfall Structure.
The engineer’s estimate for this project tendered out by the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA) is $638,361,885 and the bids submitted:

There was a lone bidder for the supply and delivery of some 300 metric tons of Lime for the Guyana Water Inc (GWI). The engineer’s estimate for that project is $23,964,600 and National Hardware Investment Inc. submitted a bid of $22,994,100.
There were also bids for the construction of a Sanitary Block at the Maternity Building for the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
The engineer’s estimate that this project should cost some $16,112,540 and the bids submitted are:
