Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry on Tuesday remanded Trevor Mortley for the offence of possession of firearm and ammunition with out being a licensed holder.
Murtley, who was unrepresented, pleaded not guilty.
It is alleged that on December 19, last, in Georgetown, law enforcement officers acting on information, stopped a minibus in which Mortley was a passenger.
He was asked to disembark and a search was conducted on his person.
The police unearthed a .32 revolver and three matching rounds which were stashed in Mortley’s pants pocket.
He was told of the offence, caution and taken into custody.
Police prosecutor Stephen Telford objected to bail and requested for the accused to be remanded.
Magistrate Beharry remanded Mortley to the Camp Street penitentiary.
The matter will be called again on January 6.
