The Faculty of Sciences amassed 110 points after the final tabulation to win the University of Guyana’s (UG) Track and Field Championships that was held last Friday at the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary.
The Faculty of Social Sciences and University of Guyana Berbice Campus tied for second with 60 points while the Faculty of Natural Sciences was third with 53 points. The School of Environmental Sciences finished fourth with 52 points.
The School of Education and Humanities was fifth with 28 points while the Faculty of Technology slumped to sixth with 11 points. The Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry came in last in the competition with eight points.
Stephon Josiah, representing Education and Humanities, was adjudged Champion Male athlete after winning the 1500m and placing second in the 5000m while Alexis Williams from Natural Science was Champion Female athlete after winning the 800m, 3000m and placing second in the 1500m events.
The Faculty of Health Sciences, Derwin McKenzie was adjudged Speed King with Social Sciences Christy Campbell taking the Speed Queen crown.
Wayne Paul was Fastest Male Staff while Jacqueline Murray was Fastest Female Staff.
