Young Warriors Cricket Club congratulates Richard Ramdeen
The Young Warriors Cricket Club congratulated Richard Ramdeen for his elevation for the first time to Guyana’s senior team, as he is added to the Guyana 20/20 team heading to South Africa.
In a statement from Anil Beharry, Secretary and executive member of the club he said that Richard Ramdeen has made the club proud. “He deserves his selection, belated it may be.
Ramdeen is a hard working, dedicated, committed and disciplined cricketer who has come through the junior ranks of Guyana and West Indies cricket. Even though we feel that Ramdeen should have been in the team long before, we are grateful to God for finally giving him his deserved place in a Guyana team.”
“We are confident that he will do the club, the county of Berbice and Guyana proud. We also hope that this opportunity and his personal performance will fast track his selection to the West Indies team.”
Beharry added that even though the club has not performed well over the last year, Ramdeen is one of the shining lights. The club over the years has produced players like Damodar Daesrath, Paul Wintz and Gajanand Singh, with Wintz and Singh leaving the club to play for New Line Cavaliers, thus reducing the strength of the team.
Beharry hopes that Ramdeen’s selection will motivate young cricketers of the club and in the Canje area.
“Once again on behalf of the club, we take this opportunity to congratulate you and wish you good luck in your career and we are confident that you will be a good ambassador.”
