Felix Austin Police college (FAPC) B Division ‘A’ team ran away with the College’s Anniversary road relay event when then that activity was held on Saturday last from the Tain University Of Guyana Berbice Campus to the College training Base at Adventure on the Corentyne Coast, covering a distance of five kilometres.
The relay which was part of the institution’s week of activities for its anniversary programme was sponsored by Professor Danziel Samad, Director of the University Of Guyana Berbice campus. The professor was on hand to start the race.
Each team was made up of five runners with each runner required to cover a distance of one kilometre.
The ‘A’ team which was made up of Rodwell Downer, Kevin Edmond, Edward Da Silva, Lynnel Campbell and Timoltheus Atherley, completely dominated the race to win comfortably and take the Professor Samad trophy.
Coming in second was the team made up of former recruits who graduated from the College last year, Batch 22B, while the FAPC ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams occupied the other two spots.
At the end of the event the top three teams were presented with their trophies by Professor Samad, Commandant of the college Superintendent Ian Amsterdam and training officer Inspector Yonette Stephen.
