– Wife among four in custody

Police have launched an investigation into the discovery of the body of 58-year-old Lambert Patrick Clarke, which was found along the Emerald Tower trail with a gaping wound to the back of the head.
The discovery was made sometime around 19:30 hours yesterday by persons working on a chicken farm on the Emerald Tower road, Soesdyke/Linden Highway.
A resident of the area who spoke with this newspaper said he was told that Clarke was found lying in a pool of blood in the vicinity of the Anabesa Creek.
He said the police were informed and Clarke was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Clarke’s body is currently at the Lyken Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem examination. However this newspaper was told that Clarke had what appeared to be chop wounds about his head.
Also, up to press time yesterday the man’s wife along with three men were still in police custody assisting with the investigation.
Clarke who was employed as a coal burner is survived by a 14 year-old son and a daughter. He and his wife shared a tiny shack on the Emerald Tower road.
The man’s death came as a shock to his neighbour who stressed that he would always keep to himself and had no problems with anyone.
Investigations are ongoing.
