Morgan, Edwards & Team Guyana also praised
Former President and General Secretary of the Guyana Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GABBFF) Yale Holder and Donald Sinclair have offered words of congratulations to the President of the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation Peter Green for hosting what has been described as a successful 4th IPF/NAPF/Caribbean Bench Press and Powerlifting Championships, March 18-20, 2010 at the Princess Hotel.
Like Bodybuilding did when the Central American and Caribbean Body Building and Fitness Championships were hosted in Guyana for the first time under Sinclair as General Secretary and Yale Holder as President, this was also a first for Powerlifting at this level under Green and General Secretary Ed Caesar.
Sinclair in his message pointed out that although he is not a powerlifter, he feels proud as a Guyanese, thanks to the efforts of Green as GAPF President and the lifters under the bars.
“What was an idea two years ago has now gone into the history books – Guyana has successfully hosted the regional power-lifting championships. The efforts of Mr. Green and the team show clearly that there is no limit to what vision plus resources can achieve.”
Sinclair also offered words of congratulations to Randolph Morgan who successfully retained the Overall Champion Lifter trophy and ‘Big’ John Edwards and all the other members of the Guyana team for their magnificent work.
The Federation now enjoys a new and well-deserved respect in the sporting community in Guyana and indeed, the wider region, Sinclair stated.
Holder, a former Powerlifter said that he was very proud of Green and his team of dedicated workers for the hard work they put into making the event a resounding success.
“I remembered how many doubted, was against and didn’t believe that this was possible – but the team stuck with it and found a way to succeed – Great Job.”
Holder’s wife, Sharon who is also a former Powerlifter and executive member, also congratulated Green and his Champion team for a job well done. The Holder’s recently celebrated the birth of their second child, Ariel Elizabeth Holder.
