16th Biennial Int’l Domino tourney set for Guyana

Thirty players from Caribbean Domino Social Organisation of London, the Caribbean Domino Association of the USA and the Guyana National Domino Federation will clash for championship honours between March 26 and April 16 in six ‘Test’ matches as the 16th Biennial International Domino championship takes place in Guyana.

Guyana has selected a strong nine-member team to be captained by Godfrey Samuels of West Demerara with Gwen McGowan as Manager and Wendell McPherson as her assistant.

Several trophies will be up for grabs in the various ‘Test’ matches and among the tournament sponsors are Supligen, DDL El Dorado and Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The visiting teams will also tour the DDL and the Neal & Massey companies in Guyana while Guyana Sports Minister Dr Frank Anthony is expected to declare the event open at 18:00hrs at the DCC pavilion.
