Former Berbice Under-17 selectee Vishal Mohabir compiled an aggressive 130 for Rose Hall Canje while Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadget and Police Sports Club gained first innings points when the latest round of the Guyana Cricket Board three-day tournament continued on Sunday last in the Ancient County of Berbice.
The fourth game did not come off as Scottsburg United failed to put in an appearance for their match against Albion which was scheduled for the Albion Community Centre Ground.
At the Area “H” Ground, Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadget invited Port Mourant to take first strike and dismissed them for 118; Rajendra Bolo 36, Troy McKenzie 22 and Devindra Thakurdeen 20 being the only batsmen to offer any resistance as off spinner Loyden Lewis 4-28 and medium pacer Terrence Madramootoo 2-20 bowled well.
In reply Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadget reached 145-5 at the end of play with Troy Mathieson 44, Madramootoo 43 and Dominic Rickey 40 being the principal scorers. Steven Latcha has so far taken 2-31 and Yogindra Harrinarine 2-33.
At the Cumberland Ground in Canje, Mohabir blasted 17 boundaries in his 130 as Rose Hall Canje amassed 335 all out versus Bermine. Mohabir received support from Khemraj Sumair 57, Kevin Ramdeen and K. Gangaram 39.
Off spinner Joemal La Fleur grabbed 5-84 off 24 impressive overs while Troy Mickle took 2-15. In reply Bermine reached 61-1 with Bronson Bynoe and Kevin Leitch both on 25 not out.
West Berbice had Young Warriors on the ropes playing at the Blairmont Ground. Young Warriors batting first were shot out for 175 with Farouk Hussain 28, Waheid Edwards 27, Ishwar Singh 27 and Linden Austin 26, the principal scorers.
Sherwin McPherson grabbed 5-40 off 14 overs while fellow off spinner Krisendat Ramoo took 4-26 from 16 probing overs.
West Berbice in reply were strongly placed at 155-3 with former Berbice Under-19 player Raffel Estriado hitting 74, Asif Khan 23 and Krisendat Ramoo 23 not out. Bowling for Young Warriors Farouk Hussain has taken 2-53.
At the Edinburgh Ground, Police have already secured first innings points over the home team. Police batting first scored 188 with Cyrus Gibson 33, Kellon Henry 31 and Albert Sinclair 30. Left arm spinner Mark Sampson snared 5-29 and Charles Shepherd 2-15 bowling for the home team who in reply were dismissed for 119.
S. Seepersaud and Zaid Hussain 29 apeice and Raid Ally 23 were the only batsmen offering any resistance to the Police bowling which was led by Henry who took 4-30 and Carl Peters 2-43. Batting a second time with a lead of 69, Police reached 5-1. All matches continue on Saturday and finishes on Sunday.
