Walker wins Elisha Bacchus sponsored Golf tourney

William Walker secured his first victory for this season when he emerged winner of the Elisha Bacchus sponsored Medal Play Golf tournament on Saturday at the Lusignan Golf Club, East Coast Demerara.

Walker recorded a net 66 from a gross 77 playing off an 11 handicap on his way to victory. He also had the best gross of the tournament of 77.

In second position was the consistent Albert Semple who recorded a net 67 from a gross 95 playing off a 28 handicap. Carlos Adams captured the third position with a net score of 70 from a gross 98 and a handicap 28.

Patrick Prashad was Nearest to the Pin.

The tournament was sponsored by Canadian citizen Elisha Bacchus who was on hand to make the presentation to the winners.

President of the Lusignan Golf Club, Mel Sankies thanked Ms. Bacchus for sponsoring the tournament. It was the second overseas sponsorship this season following on the heels of Hibiscus Restaurant of New York.

The golfers will be in action on Sunday in a special Mashramani tournament sponsored by Carlos Adams of Adzar Windoors Company.
