Police are trying to trace the owner of a .38 revolver that was found on a former member of the Guyana Defence Force around 22:40 hrs on Friday.
According to reports, police ranks were on patrol in the vicinity of Meadowbrook Gardens when they observed the ex-solder standing by a lamp-post and acting in a suspicious manner.
The suspect was searched and the unloaded .38 revolver was found in his underpants.
He was detained and is to appear in court this week.
