Thanks to the benevolence of a Canada-based Guyanese, life has been made a bit easier in some ways for three boys who experienced a heart-rending tragedy, a little over six months ago.
Andre, Anthony and Tyrone Sandy, who lost their mother, Mary Sandy, in a tragic accident at Providence on the East Bank of Demerara, in June last year, received two boxes containing clothing, school supplies and other goodies.
The items were provided by Miss Indira Sookdeo of Toronto, Canada.
The three boys presently reside at the Mahaica Boys’ Orphanage. Only three-year-old Tyrone was on hand to receive the items since his brothers, Anthony, five, and Andre, 7, were attending school when this newspaper visited the facility.
With a huge smile on his face little Tyrone gleefully posed with one of the items which was supposed to be a part of their Christmas gifts.
A caregiver at the orphanage told Kaieteur News that the boys have adjusted well to the environment and the administration there is happy to be a part of their upbringing.
