Former national Boxing champion on sex charge
Michael Crawford, 52, of 9 Martin Luther Scheme, New Amsterdam Berbice was on Monday further remanded to prison by magistrate Adela Nagamootoo when he appeared before her for the second time on a charge of having carnal knowledge of a girl under 13 years old at his home.
Crawford, a technician and former amateur boxing champion, is said to have committed the act of Friday November 13.

Prosecutor, Inspector Aubrey Cumberbatch, told the court that Crawford, a married father of four, and the girl who is a student, are known to each other as they live in the same area.
The teen was described as a regular visitor to the man’s home and she along with her sibling will usually visit the premises to pick fruits.
On the day in question the teen went alone and was invited by Crawford upstairs, where he allegedly committed the act.
They were reportedly caught when the girl’s younger brother went in search of her and after wandering into the man’s house, peeped through a crease saw the two in the act.
The matter was reported and Crawford was charged.
