Following their triumph over the host nation Suriname on Wednesday, the Guyana ‘Golden Jaguars’ maintained their unblemished record when play continued in the Suriname Independence Anniversary football tournament.
This time the lads from the ‘Land of many waters’ needled Netherlands Antilles thanks to prolific striker, the tormenting Devon Millington. Millington continued to torment the opposition’s defence and was rewarded in the 29th minute. Despite no further strikes, Guyana held strong to keep a clean slate while their opponents allowed no further strikes. This puts the Jaguars in a good position to win the tournament. They face French Guiana in their last match tomorrow. See tomorrow’s edition for full details.
